Project Overview
This San Anselmo home sits up off the street on a hillside lot, with a new concrete front porch and a long run of entry steps climbing to it. From the porch the owners look out over the neighborhood to the hills, and they wanted a railing that was solid to hold on the way up and did not block that view.
We installed our ViewLine glass railing system around the porch and down the entry steps: 2×2 inch square aluminum posts fastened to the side of the concrete, clear tempered glass panels between them and a flat 3×1 aluminum top rail, all powder coated grey to match the concrete.
The glass on the steps is cut to follow the slope, so the top rail runs as one clean line from the driveway to the front door. Mounting the posts on the side of the concrete keeps the full width of the steps and the porch clear.
