Redwood City Spigot Glass Railing – Alameda

Project Components

Project Overview

Behind this Redwood City home, a new redwood retaining wall holds a raised lawn above the patio. The drop from the lawn to the patio needed a guard, and the owners did not want a fence cutting the small yard in two.

We installed our spigot glass railing along the top of the wall and down the garden steps: 9/16 inch clear laminated glass held in matte black spigots fastened to the face of the wall, with no posts and no top rail.

Mounting the spigots on the side of the wall keeps the lawn clear right to the edge, and clear glass lets the patio and the lawn read as one yard. From the house the railing is nearly invisible against the redwood.

Like all of our railing, this system was designed, fabricated and installed by our own crew, and built to meet California code.
