Alamo Cable Railing – Alamo Glen

Project Components

Project Overview

This Alamo home sits at the top of a sloping front yard, with a long flight of concrete steps climbing from the driveway to the front door. The owners wanted a railing on the steps that was safe to hold and did not clutter the front of the house.

We built our ThinLine cable railing up one side of the steps: 2×2 inch square aluminum posts fastened to the concrete and a flat 3×1 aluminum top rail, powder coated matte black, with 1/8 inch marine grade stainless steel cable run between the posts.

The top rail follows the slope of the steps in one straight line, and the thin cables keep the planting on the hillside in view. The black finish picks up the dark window frames and light fixtures on the house.
