Project Overview
This Portola Valley cable railing runs the full perimeter of a multi-level hillside deck, stepping down with the slope behind the house. With long open runs on every level, the owners wanted a railing that met code without cutting the valley view into sections.
We installed our ThinLine cable railing system – 1/8 inch 316L marine grade stainless steel cable tensioned horizontally between 2×2 inch square aluminum posts in matte black powder coat, under a 3×1 top rail. Fascia mounting keeps the posts off the walking surface, so the full width of each deck level stays usable.
