Project Overview
The lower level of this wooded Mill Valley property carries our ThinLine cable railing system, running along the deck and the path that drops away from the house toward the trees.
We surface mounted 2×2 inch square aluminum posts in matte black powder coat, tensioned with 1/8 inch 316L marine grade stainless steel cable. Cable railing was the right call at this level – the runs are long and open, and thin horizontal cable disappears against the eucalyptus far more completely than a flat bar would.
The upper decks, entry walkway and stairs on the same property use our RectRail horizontal railing system. Running cable low and flat bar high is deliberate: cable where the view through the trees matters most, rect rail where the railing is close at hand and wants more presence.
