Project Overview
For this Emerald Hills deck, the homeowner wanted a railing system that brings together modern style, natural warmth, and low-maintenance durability, a deck rail that feels modern but still welcoming, with clean lines that work with the architecture. They envisioned a design that doesn’t interfere with the openness of the deck, complements the space, and feels solid underfoot.
We installed the HRK horizontal rail system, using aluminum for the posts and infill rails, a material known for strength, light weight, and resistance to corrosion, ideal for outdoor settings. The ¾″ square aluminum rods run horizontally between the posts, giving the deck a wide, open feel that draws the eye outward rather than enclosing the space. The cedar top bar adds a touch of natural warmth and contrast, marrying the sleek geometry of metal with the organic character of wood.
Because of the aluminum’s durability and the powder-coat finish’s resistance to weather and wear, this railing is built to last with minimal upkeep. The result is a balanced deck railing that offers safety and code-compliant structure, while enhancing the deck’s design and preserving openness, perfect for homeowners who want a modern, refined outdoor space without visual clutter.
